Important information about the processing of personal data

Dear Sir or Madam,

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25 May 2018. This significantly improves data protection for data subjects in the European Union.

The GDPR is the most important data protection regulation in Europe since the EU Data Protection Directive of 1995. After a two-year transition period, the GDPR now replaces the outdated EU Data Protection Directive and, to a large extent, national data protection laws. Unlike a directive, a regulation applies directly in all member states of the EU without the need for national transposition laws. In this respect, uniform rules and regulations on data protection across the EU were created for the first time.

We are aware that diligence is the basis for trustful cooperation with our customers. Compliance with laws and regulations in general is just as important to us and our employees as the lawful and sensitive handling of personal data in particular.

To help you better understand the various aspects and implications of the new regulation, we are happy to provide you with an overview in the attached data protection notices of how our company processes personal data. Also included is information on who you can contact if you have any queries or a matter that needs attention.

Yours faithfully,

Euregio Rhine-Waal
Management

Use of Facebook plug-ins
Plug-ins from the “Facebook” social network, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, have been integrated into our site. You can identify the Facebook plug-ins by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button on our site.  For an overview of Facebook plug-ins, please visit http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.
When you visit our website, the activation of the plug-in creates a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. This provides Facebook with the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click on the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our sites to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to associate your visits to our sites with your user account. We want to point out that we as provider of the sites have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data nor its use by Facebook. For more information, refer to Facebook’s privacy policy at: http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not want Facebook to associate your visits to our pages with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook account.

Through the use of Twitter and the “retweet” function, the web pages you visit are linked to your Twitter account and made known to other users. In so doing, data is also transmitted to Twitter.

We want to point out that we as provider of the sites have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data nor its use by Twitter. For more information, refer to Twitter’s privacy policy at: http://twitter.com/privacy.

Use of LinkedIn
We use components of the LinkedIn network on our website. LinkedIn is a service of LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Every time you visit our website that includes such a component, this component prompts your browser to download a corresponding image of the component from LinkedIn.

Through this process, LinkedIn is informed about which specific page of our website is currently being accessed. By clicking the LinkedIn “recommend button” while logged in to your LinkedIn account, you can link content from our website to your LinkedIn profile. This allows LinkedIn to associate your visit to our site with your LinkedIn account.

We have no control over the data that LinkedIn collects nor the extent of the data collected by LinkedIn. Nor do we have any knowledge of the content of the data transmitted to LinkedIn. Information about data collection by LinkedIn, as well as your rights in this regard and your browser setting options, may be found in the LinkedIn data privacy policy.
