By means of the project “Grenzenlos Moor“ there will be a cross-border development of the International Nature Park Bourtanger Moor – Bargerveen (INP) by mid of 2018. This nature park on both sides of the border builds the core element of the former largest continuous highmoor area within Central Europe. The basis of the project “Grenzenlos Moor“ is a cross-border coordinated strategy to develop the nature park as common natural area, experience space as well as living and economic environment.
Within the context of these three development aims seven measure packages are implemented in the project “Grenzenlos Moor“: there will be extensive development measures for the natural area moor to directly and indirectly regulate the water supply. For the experience space moor various measures are carried out for a cross-border uniform perception of the nature park and an optimised control of visitors. With regard to the living and economic environment moor measures are implemented to safeguard endangered utilisation and residential areas as well as innovative nature-compatible production methods are tested. Essential is the coordinated implementation of all measures.

The realisation of the project “Grenzenlos Moor“ is conducted by a consortium of ten public and semi-public partners, who collectively pursue and implement the development of the nature park as organisers and supporters of the individual measures. The association structure of the International Nature Park Bourtanger Moor – Bargerveen e.V. builds the structural foundation, which also acts as lead partner.
