Asset Management 2.0 has been developed to increase the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of the concrete infrastructure. The infrastructure asset owners, managers and experts will have access to an online digital dashboard of their infrastructures. This system is applicable to both the existing and new concrete structures.

A real-time concrete durability sensor, based on resistivity measurements with wireless technology, has been developed along with the interpretation methodology. The algorithm has been developed to evaluate the probability of corrosion, chloride ingress, carbonation, freeze-thaw, crack formation and delayed ettringite formation based degradations. The remote data acquisition from the sensor is released through the Internet of Things (IoT) platform. The measurement results are validated and interpreted to generate notifications and maintenance strategy for asset managers in order to be able to optimise risks, costs and performance.

A remote concrete durability sensor and Decision Support Tool (DST) is developed in this project. The real-time durability status of the concrete infrastructure is given in the form of a traffic light as a pragmatic solution. Moreover, all the detailed analysis are presented on the DST online portal. The DST algorithms are based on the existing standards and codes, such as DuraCrete and FIB model code, along with the laboratory calibrations. This is an early warning system that alerts the user before any potential concrete deterioration could occur.
