The project “Bio-Economy – Green Chemistry” focuses on new topics that emerged from the project “BioEconomy in the Non-Food Sector”. In addition, results from the BioEconomy Non Food project will be further developed and optimised.

In the meantime, some material mixtures have been researched and tested so well that products with specific characteristics can be produced in concrete terms according to the requirements of industry or individual SMEs. The project will conduct a structured study looking at the entire value chain on how to use material flows in the border region more efficiently. Applications that are very high in the so-called value-added pyramid of green raw materials are also being developed. Bio-based insulation materials and their use will be better presented to the public through a mobile exhibition.

In order to firmly anchor the expertise in the region in general, the target group of the continuing training programme will be broadened, and the topics will be deepened. New topics are “Content Substances – Green Chemistry” and “Products from Paludikulturen”. SMEs can participate in the project with innovative ideas and are advised and accompanied by experts.

Cross-border cooperation in the established networks will continue and expand with regard to new themes and target groups. This is achieved through exchange and cooperation with other networks and projects. In addition, it will seek access to regional economic development initiatives and to industry.
