Interreg

Since the beginning of 2016, the German-Dutch programme area has two UNESCO Global Geoparks, the TERRA.vita Geopark on the German side and the De Hondsrug Geopark on the Dutch side, the only one in the Netherlands. UNESCO Global Geoparks are characterized by their specific geological, archaeological, ecological and cultural values. The project “UNESCO Geopark Cooperation DE/NL” aims at a close cooperation between the two geoparks in the development areas of infrastructure, products, education, marketing and structures. A consortium of nine project partners will implement a series of measures in these areas over the next years. The aim is the sustainable development and sharpening of the profiles of the two geoparks with the help of cross-border cooperation.
