On either side of the border, demographic and social change has a direct impact on the burdens on employees and employers. However, while large corporations can often fall back on already established company health management concepts, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often lack targeted measures for the sustainable promotion of the health and performance of employees and managers. This is where the “Health (Pro)Fit” project comes in: Over the next few years, experts from Münster University of Applied Sciences, Universiteit Twente and TAFH Münster GmbH will work together with eight SMEs to develop tailor-made, practical and cost-effective health promotion measures across borders.
“Health (Pro)Fit” thus stands for the maintenance and promotion of healthy, vital, motivated and capable employees, managers and teams. The core element is the so-called maturity model. As a so-called “guidance system”, the maturity model enables the immediate and gradual implementation, further development and optimisation of health measures towards a healthy company with a healthy corporate culture. This approach is new and is used for the first time in the project.
In the long term, the project is intended to strengthen SMEs in a sustainable manner: for example, by reducing absenteeism due to incapacity to work, making the company more attractive as an employer and enabling employees to work well and healthily even up to retirement age.
