Kulturachse Nord

Kulturachse Nord - Neue Wege der grenzübergreifenden Besuchergewinnung im Kunst- und Kulturbereich

Cultural mobility across the border is still not as pronounced as it might be. There are still barriers to visit cultural facilities in the neighboring country. The Kunsthalle Emden and the Drents Museum in Assen are looking to meet this challenge. The goal of the “Kulturachse Nord” project is to increase the share of cross-border visitors. As an example for arts and cultural institutions in the Ems Dollart Region the two partners want to find out with the project, with which measures this best succeeds. The two art museums will test this with a six-month cross-border exhibition. The “Kulturachse Nord” project includes the identification of the current visitor structures, the planning of the new measures before the start of the exhibition, their implementation, and the evaluation of the success of the measures and the newly gained visitor numbers after the end of the exhibition. The curators, museum educators, marketing managers and the museum management of both museums are involved in the implementation of the measures.
