Netzwerk Grenzenloses Effizientes Produzieren in der EUREGIO für CO2-Reduzierung und Produktivitätssteigerung in KMU

German-Dutch project Network GEP comes to a successful end after 4 years – springboard for effective cooperation in the Dutch-German border region
After 4 years, the duration of the german-Dutch project GEP (limitless, efficient production), which was carried out in cooperation with the county of Bentheim and the sTODT education and technology centre in Hengelo for the Dutch provinces of Overijssel and Achterhoek, will end on 30 September 2019.
In addition to the development and expansion of cross-border cooperations and activities to strengthen the german-Dutch transfer of knowledge and innovation, the focus was on production-related process optimization.
Through the so-called Lean & Green Check, small and medium-sized craft and industrial companies from the wood, metal, plastics and food industries had the opportunity to have their manufacturing processes examined externally for waste and optimization approaches and to make recommendations for effective improvement measures in the consumption of resources.
More than 130 companies from the german-Dutch border region have made use of this funding offer. Around two thirds of these have opted for a further in-depth project on the basis of the check results, also on the basis of financial support from the INTERREG funds provided by EUREGIO.
In addition, the GEP activities were accompanied by the establishment of a comprehensive german-Dutch solution provider and expert pool. In addition, numerous transnational industry meetings were organised and cross-border cooperation between interested German and Dutch companies was supported at international and regional trade fairs. This gave companies the opportunity to enter into strategic partnerships with other companies from the border region and to increase their added value through innovative approaches in lean management, resource efficiency or in the broad field of digitalization.
