STRASUS

Strategic Sustainability for Logistics

The project STRASUS supports German and Dutch SMEs from the Logistics sector at creating, realizing and rolling out of an individual sustainability strategy according to relevant guidelines and certification systems. While budgets and time for staff training is traditionally short in logistics companies, the project consortium will create serious gaming modules that create easy access to CSR knowledge within participating companies. The project aims to create synergies between existing CSR initiatives within the programme region.
Examples from Best Practices from selected logistics Dutch and German logistics companies will enter a 6-stage workshop concept. The created Serious Gaming modules with complete the workshops and brought into companies for training during several months. Thus, CSR knowledge is created on-the-job and can be applied immediately. Passing all six stages will enable companies to independently prepare not only a CSR certification but also to establish an individual CSR report and learn ways how to communicate their strategy to stakeholders.

The project is structured in 4 work packages
1. Serious gaming modules
2. Work shops
3. PR and marketing
4. Project management

In WP1 the consortium design, programmes and creates the serious gaming modules that are the basis for the mentioned workshops in WP2. The scientific partners in WP3 will design a train-the-trainer model to guarantee a durable utilization of the created serious gaming modules in logistics companies. That is how the consortium assures a holistic concept that will be used in Dutch and German companies also after the project ended. The project is also seen as a networking organism for interested logistics companies how have realized that they need to be at the forefront of change towards sustainability in order to cope with future ecological and societal challenges. Finally, the project team administers in WP4 central project management tasks.
