Within the framework of Net(z)werk+, smaller cross-border activities are to be initiated and supported in the northern programme area. The regional programme partners (the provinces of Drenthe, Fryslân and Groningen, the state of Lower Saxony and the EDR) want to bundle cross-border activities, take up the political objectives and common themes of structural policy, as well as establish new contacts and work on promising thematic fields.

In doing so, the various measures are to focus in particular on the topics in the priority axis “Socio-cultural and territorial cohesion”, but also promote networking for initiatives in the priority axes of the priority axis “Innovation and technology transfer”. This cross-cutting approach, which is also intended to promote the preparation of networks and projects in Priority 1 in particular, is at the heart of the framework project.

The content of the activities can (according to the cooperation programme and the “Strategy No(o)rd”) accordingly cover the following topics:
• Civic encounter and community networking
• Education and labour market
• Challenges of rural areas
• Demographic development
• Socio-cultural cooperation
• Natural and cultural heritage
• Green infrastructure and biodiversity
• Climate protection and CO2 reduction
• Public Safety and Order
• Economy, science and innovation

The individual measures can be financed with a maximum of 50% (as the EU share) from INTERREG, although the sum of this share is limited to a maximum of €25,000. The projects are to be carried out with the broad participation of German and Dutch partners, who are to be actively involved. The aim is to create new networks or consolidate existing ones.
